Rotomoulding Applications

When it comes to manufacturing large hollow plastic parts, nothing beats the process of rotomolding. Compared to other molding or casting processes like injection or blow molding, rotomolding is exceptionally cost efficient and the products produced are also of better quality.

What is Laser Cutting Technology?

Laser cutting technology as the name implies uses laser to cut materials for industrial manufacturing utilization. In this technology a high powered laser is administered at the material to melt or burn or vaporize, giving a high-quality surface finish. Mostly in industrial laser cutting a flat-sheet material and piping material for the surface finish.

Types of Lasers Used in Laser Cutting:

There are principally three types of lasers used in laser cutting technology. These are:

1. CO2 Laser: This laser is applied for cutting, boring and engraving. The CO2 laser is quite similar in process with neodymium (Nd) and Nd-YAG but applications are different. In the CO2 laser high repetition is required with high energy whereas neodymium (Nd) is used only for boring with low repetition. The radio frequency method is new but advantageous than DC excited, which results electrode erosion. This laser is primarily used for industrial cutting such as mild steel, aluminum, stainless steel, wax, plastic, wood, titanium etc.

2. ND Laser: ND lasers are used for boring where high energy pulses rays are passed with low repetition speed (1kHz).

3. Nd-YAG Laser This laser is used in boring, trimming and engraving with very high energy pulses and low repetition speed.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Laser Cutting Technology:

The main advantage of laser technology is the easier work holding plus minimum contamination. In compare to mechanical cutting, precision is better and minimum chance of warping the material. It is better to cut small materials through laser technology as it is easier and get precision. It is also better than plasma cutting because it uses less energy when cutting sheet metal. However, laser can't cut thick metal whereas plasma can do it.

Laser cutting consumes lots of electrical power, it varies on output power and operating factors, however. The power input also depends on the material type, thickness and desired cutting rate. We manufacture, supply and export all types of laser cutting machinery. Contact us to buy or for any information on laser cutting machines and equipments.
